It’s a new year and a new decade. This sense of renewal that comes when we change calendars makes the start of January one of my favorite times of the year. For all of us it is a new beginning. Many of us will make resolutions, and even though we all know that only a few will keep them entirely, I still think resolutions are a good tradition and something worth shooting toward.
I’m using the beginning of the year to focus on some of my larger goals. It’s my first full calendar year as a dad, so being the best family man I can be is certainly on my mind. I’m also thinking of how to make this year successful in the State Capitol. My “Hire Michigan First” plan is as close as it’s ever been to being signed into law, and taking the final steps to get this important job-creating policy in place is certainly on top of my Lansing to-do list. I’m also going to continue to work on other important reforms to the way our government works.
